SORA is a risk assessment method developed by jarus to create sufficient confidence that an operation can be carried out safely within the specific category
To get an operating permit, you either need to carry out a specific operational risk assessment, follow a standard scenario or apply via a predefined risk assessment
We guide you through the process and ensure that you obtain your operating permits
SORA is a method for managing the risk of an operation in the specific category.
The SORA method helps the operator to identify, among other things, operational constraints, personnel training goals (eg remote pilots, observers, maintenance personnel, etc..), technical requirements for the drone and to develop appropriate operational procedures that will be part of the operator's manual.
PDRA is a simplified type of authorization where EASA has already carried out the risk analysis.
EASA has introduced the PDRA to facilitate UAS operators obtaining authorization for a number of specific operations. As long as the operation can be carried out entirely within the framework of a PDRA, the operator does not need to carry out a full risk analysis according to the SORA model.
Regarding the PDRA, EASA publishes a requirements picture to be met by the UAS operator. The requirements picture acts as a guide when the operator develops procedures, limitations and technical solutions.
The European Standard Scenario (STS) is a predefined operation.
Standard scenarios have been introduced by EASA for only a few specific types of low-risk UAS operations.
This is one of several opportunities for UAS operators to start
its business.
If an operation fits within the framework of any standard scenario, the operator does not need to apply for operational authorization for the specific operation. In that case, it is sufficient for the operator to declare that it intends to operate within the framework of an STS.
